A bit about Rockstart

Rockstart, one of Europe's first multi-vertical startup accelerators, was founded in Amsterdam in 2011 with a goal to provide startups with access to the market, capital, knowledge, and community. Since then, Rockstart has become the international specialist in building entire ecosystems around specific domains—such as Artificial Intelligence, Digital Health, and Smart Energy. Currently Rockstart is launching operations in the new domain of AgriFood. Since their inception, Rockstart has invested in 152 startups across 17 programs and supported them in their journey to raise more than €69 million and hire more than 720 people. Rockstart is an international team of 35+ professionals dedicated to support and empower startups to become scalable and change their world for the better.

The role

For our AgriFood program, we’re looking for an intern who will support the professional execution of the program. In close collaboration with the Program Manager, you will work on setting up a program of exceptional execution with ambitious startups and the best possible network surrounding it. Where the Program Manager focuses on building the network of startups, investors, corporate partners and mentors as well as design the curriculum of the program, your focus will be to drive delivery of our different activities and operations and engaging with/catering to the local entrepreneurial network. 

Your main responsibilities will be:

  • Program Planning: Seamless program planning for the entire 6-month AgriFood program;
  • Smooth Operations: Manage delivery of key program aspects on time and within budget by working with the wider Rockstart team. This includes but is not limited to operationalising the program plan and setting it into motion, preparing for events, sending out periodic communication and supporting the startups on operational queries about the program;
  • Communication: Manage stakeholder communications including content design and delivery; and
  • Continuous improvement: Make improvements to the process as the program progresses and capture this knowledge to share with relevant teams.

Please note that there is a possibility to enter into a full-time role as Program Associate upon conclusion of the internship.

You like organizing events and your analytical brain can tweak and optimize the systems while your creative brain loves to think along with, support and guide the startups and your team. You are excited about working in a hectic startup environment.  You are a team player; you like improving content and organizing and facilitating a vibrant working environment.

Must have requirements:

  • Living in or around Copenhagen;
  • Professional proficiency in English and conversational proficiency in Danish;
  • Some experience in operations, project management and/or events;
  • You’re tech-savvy and super efficient;
  • Experience using online tools like Trello/Copper/Google Apps;
  • Strong operational profile; and
  • Proactive, entrepreneurial, results-oriented attitude with an ability to work effectively in a non-hierarchical environment.

Bonus points: 

  • Knowledge of, or a special interest in Innovative Food, Agriculture and food systems of the future.
  • Previous experience in building and executing a social media plan; and
  • A deep interest in the startup scene and/or having organized/attended events like Startup Weekend or other startup related meet-ups.

Start: Early March or by agreement

Availability: Full-time

Duration: 4-6 months, with possibility of continuing in the a position as Program Associate.

Remuneration: 2,200DKK/month + travel expenses

Location: Copenhagen, Denmark. Possible work/travel to the Rockstart HQ in Amsterdam, on occasion.
