A bit about Rockstart

Rockstart, one of Europe's first multi-vertical startup accelerators, was founded in Amsterdam in 2011 with a goal to provide startups with access to the market, capital, knowledge, and community. Since then Rockstart has become the specialist in building entire ecosystems around specific domains—such as Digital Health and Smart Energy.

Rockstart is actively building up entrepreneurial infrastructures around the world with its acceleration verticals, as well as early-stage startup programs, Rockstart Impact and Rockstart Launchtrack. Since the inception, Rockstart has invested in 128 startups across 12 programs and supported them in their journey to raise more than €53 million and hire more than 600+ people. Rockstart is an international team of 40+ professionals dedicated to support and empower startups to become scalable and change their world for the better.

 

The role

For our recently launched Artificial Intelligence Accelerator program, we are looking for a talented individual to build, expand and strengthen the ecosystem surrounding the program. This includes setting up strategic partnerships with international and local corporates, academic institutions and influencers in order to build one of the best ecosystems in the world for AI startups.

You help create the Accelerator program’s positioning by developing lasting relationships with important stakeholders in the European and Global AI ecosystem. In close collaboration with the Program Director, you ensure that all these stakeholders get and stay excited about joining Rockstart’s network.


Main responsibilities :

  • Create and maintain strong strategic partnerships with relevant corporates;
  • Research and approach potential partners;
  • Draft and present partnership proposals and ensure a good workflow and sales pipeline;
  • Continuously add value to the program by ensuring access to academic institutions and influencers;
  • Follow up and close partnership deals;
  • Create implementation plans for partnership deliverables in collaboration with the Program Director and Program Associate.


Requirements

What makes you the perfect candidate?

Comfortable as you are in an entrepreneurial environment, you love to connect to people who share the same mission. You are familiar with the corporate world as well and know what it takes to get something done there. You are a go-getter who can smell opportunity from around the corner and goes after it tenaciously.
You have a commercial and customer oriented mindset and you are always looking for ways to bring new ideas to a potential client or existing partner, which is shown by your ability to create strong commercial proposals and presentations. Finally people tend to like you and you’re known for building long lasting and sustainable relationships. You always prefer content and value over number of deals.


Function requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years experience working within an entrepreneurial environment OR within the top of traditional corporate OR as a business development/sales role in a relevant industry;
  • A strong network in the international startup scene;
  • A strong network in the corporate scene;
  • Excellent communication skills in English;
  • Proactive, entrepreneurial, results-oriented attitude with an ability to work effectively in a non-hierarchical environment

Availability: 40 hours per week.

Duration: This is a long-term position. We’ll start with a temporary contract.

Remuneration: Based on experience and knowledge.

Location: Amsterdam (frequent travelling to Den Bosch is required).
