Program Associate

Job description

A bit about Rockstart

Rockstart, one of Europe's first multi-vertical startup accelerators, was founded in Amsterdam in 2011 with a goal to provide startups with access to the market, capital, knowledge, and community. Since then Rockstart has become the specialist in building entire ecosystems around specific domains—such as Digital Health and Smart Energy. Rockstart is actively building up entrepreneurial infrastructures around the world with its acceleration verticals, as well as early-stage startup programs, Rockstart Impact and Rockstart Launchtrack. Since the inception, Rockstart has invested in 108 startups across 11 programs and supported them in their journey to raise more than €45 million and hire more than 600+ people. Rockstart is an international team of 40+ professionals dedicated to support and empower startups to become scalable and change their world for the better.

The role

Rockstart is growing! We're looking for the hungriest, most ambitious, and brightest minds out there to make it all happen. Right now we’re looking for a Program Associate to join and strengthen Rockstart’s Accelerator team in Den Bosch.

As a Program Associate, you work closely with the Program Director to set up and run Rockstart’s first Artificial Intelligence Accelerator program. Your focus will be on executing the operational tasks and planning of the program. You work independently and also with the team’s support to ensure the Program hits its targets on timing, execution quality and startup satisfaction levels.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Program Planning:  In depth & detailed program planning in collaboration with the Program Director for the entire Artificial Intelligence 2017 program;
  • Smooth Operations:  This includes but is not limited to operationalizing the program plan by collaborating with the support team, setting up and administering internal operations tools & systems, preparing for events, sending out periodic communication and supporting the startups on operational queries about the program, coordinating with mentors;
  • Continuous improvement: Make improvements to the process as we go and capture this knowledge and share it with the Product & Quality team.

  • Living in or around Den Bosch;
  • Fluent in English;
  • Some experience in operations, project management and/or events (recent graduates may also apply);
  • You’re tech-savvy and super efficient;
  • Experience using online tools like Trello/Prosperworks/Google Apps;
  • Previous work/internship experience in a similar environment;
  • Strong communication skills;
  • You are deeply interested in the startup scene and ideally have organized/attended events like Startup Weekend or other startup related meetups.

Bonus points: we would love our employees to bring something extra to the table, so we encourage you to mention in your motivation any special knowledge or experience that in your opinion is very valuable for Rockstart.

What makes you the perfect candidate?

You are a real organisational freak who loves to stay on top of things and find smarter ways to do them. You are an avid follower of all things tech and startup. Your analytical brain can tweak and optimize the systems while your creative brain loves experimenting with different ideas to get the best optimal results. You are the glue that holds the Accelerator’s operations together. You are excited about working in a hectic startup environment. You are a team player who picks up slack when you see it and you work at a blazing pace to deliver on deadlines. You’re smart and savvy with a critical eye for processes and systems. Oh, and you love a good curveball thrown your way.

Start: ASAP

Availability: 40 hours

Duration: This is a long-term position. We’ll start with an initial 6 month contract.

Remuneration: Entry level
