About the role

We are looking for an experienced entrepreneur or early stage investor - a person who knows what startups need to succeed - to be the next Program Director of Rockstart’s Artificial Intelligence program. She or he has deep knowledge within the applied AI sector. This knowledge extends to the latests trends in Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Computer Vision, etc. and their commercial application.
 

You will work on ensuring that the AI Accelerator program offers the best possible proposition to startups and that the greatest startups in the field will apply. During the program you will coach and guide the startups to optimal growth, becoming investor ready,  while ensuring the highest quality program.


About You

The perfect candidate for this role is someone who has recently built a deep tech company in the area of AI or directly invested in it in a hands-on way, and has a good understanding of the underlying technologies, markets and challenges. Ideal candidates have raised funding in several rounds and have ended the most recent startup journey by having their business acquired.


  • You have a combination of a commercial and technical background.
  • You have solid experience working with deep technology startups and understand their challenges like no one else.
  • You are a visionary, you help the startups to develop products that truly disrupt their industries.
  • You are a great coach, you understand when to push for progress or support in difficult times.
  • You’re a people’s person. Sometimes the going can get tough and with your enthusiasm you have the ability to turn things around. As the go getter that you are, you leave no stone unturned to achieve the ambitious goals of the program and the startups.
  • You rigorously prioritise. With several deliverables, you always know how to master your priorities.
  • You are sharp and know what is fluff and call it straight out.

Your responsibilities:

  • Coaching the startups to ensure they progress on the right milestones;
  • Engaging with and managing the existing community of mentors, experts, corporate partners and investors;
  • Organizing and facilitating sessions and overseeing daily operations of the program;
  • Managing and maintaining relationships with different stakeholders;
  • Inspiring and managing a team of (international) professionals and interns;
  • Weekly coaching of the startups to ensure they progress on the right milestones

Requirements

  • 5+ year entrepreneurial experience either as a founder or part of the management team of a startup;
  • Deep knowledge and understanding of the dynamics within AI;
  • Knowledge of a deep tech startup’s lifecycle, and investment strategies;
  • Experience in mentoring and coaching;
  • Excellent communication skills in English.

Further Information:

Start: As soon as possible.

Availability: 40 hours.

Duration: Initial 12 month contract with intention of extension.

Remuneration: Competitive market salary based on experience.

Location: ‘s-Hertogenbosch (an hour from Amsterdam), Netherlands.
