Job description

A bit about Rockstart

Rockstart, one of Europe's first multi-vertical startup accelerators, was founded in Amsterdam in 2011 with a goal to provide startups with access to the market, capital, knowledge, and community. Since then Rockstart has become the international specialist in building entire ecosystems around specific domains—such as Digital Health and Smart Energy. Currently Rockstart is launching operations in the new domain of AgriFood. Since the inception, Rockstart has invested in 128 startups across 13 programs and supported them in their journey to raise more than €53 million and hire more than 600+ people. Rockstart is an international team of 40+ professionals dedicated to support and empower startups to become scalable and change their world for the better.

The role

For our new branch in Copenhagen, Denmark, we’re looking for an operational mastermind to kickstart Rockstart’s first AgriFood Accelerator program, including preparing for and executing the program and corporate challenges. In close collaboration with the Program Director, you will work on setting up a program of exceptional execution with high quality startups and the best possible network surrounding it. Where the Program Director focuses on building the network of startups, investors, corporates and mentors as well as design the curriculum of the program, your focus will be on driving delivery of our different activities and operations as well as engaging with and catering to the local entrepreneurial network. You will work independently and also with the team’s support to ensure the program hits its targets on timing, execution quality and startup satisfaction levels.

Your main responsibilities will be:

  • Create seamless program planning for the entire AgriFood 2018/2019 program;
  • Manage delivery of key program aspects on time and on budget by working with the wider Rockstart team;
  • Assist on scouting & engaging startups;
  • Run Accelerator and Corporate program events;
  • Manage stakeholder communications including content design and delivery;
  • Support the startups with weekly meetings and facilitating connections;
  • Make continuous improvements to the process & content as we go and capture this knowledge.

What makes you the perfect candidate?

You are a real organising freak who loves to stay on top of things and find smarter ways to do them. You get a buzz in finding solutions and see every crisis as an opportunity. Your analytical brain can tweak and optimize the systems while your creative brain loves to think along with, support and guide the startups and your team. You are excited about working in a hectic startup environment. You get a kick out of injecting some chaos into corporates, and you think strategically about how those corporate partners can help our startups scale. You are a team player who can fulfil the right arm of the Program Director when it comes to program excellence, which is also your first priority. You love improving content and acting as a shepherd to a flock of mentors and coaches. And last but not least you love to forge strong strong connections because you enjoy working with people.

Must have requirements:

  • Living in or around Copenhagen, Denmark with an existing local network;
  • Fluent in English & Danish;
  • Experience in operations, project management and/or events in a similar environment;
  • Strong communicator who gains energy from people;
  • You’re tech-savvy and super efficient;
  • Experience running teams of 1-3 people;
  • Experience using online tools like Trello/Prosperworks/Google Apps;
  • You are deeply interested in the startup scene and ideally have organized/attended events like Startup Weekend or other startup related meetups;
  • Proactive, entrepreneurial, results-oriented attitude with an ability to work effectively in a non-hierarchical environment

Start: April 1st or earlier.
Availability: 40 hours per week.

Duration: This is a long-term position. We’ll start with a temporary contract.

Remuneration: Based on experience and knowledge.

Location: Copenhagen, Denmark.
