A bit about Rockstart
Rockstart launched in 2011 in Amsterdam as one of Europe’s first startup accelerators. Today, Rockstart is an international company that supports and empowers the best startups on their way to success across four domains: Energy, Health, AgriFood, and Emerging technologies. We provide startups with access to the capital, market, community, and expertise by connecting them to partners, investors, mentors and the wider Rockstart network.
Since its inception, Rockstart has invested in more than 150 startups and supported them in their journey to raise more than €87 million and hire more than 700 people. Rockstart is an international team of 35+ professionals dedicated to support and empower startups to become scalable and change their world for the better.
We are looking for a high-potential and ambitious (Master’s) student to join our team as a Startup Analyst Intern. In this internship, you will work closely with our Startup Analyst team as well as our Accelerator Program teams to optimize and execute our deal sourcing strategy. This means that you dive deep into the world of the newest technologies and startup investments and that you will learn how to assess commercial potential and quality of new ventures.
Your main responsibilities will be:
Researching and scraping startup databases, social media platforms, events and conferences, and other parts of startup ecosystems for startups that fit within the Rockstart investment criteria;
Identifying new sources of strong startups & keeping up to date information on those sources;
Creating, filling in and updating a database of potential startups to apply for the upcoming Accelerator programs;
Processing and analyzing all contact info (inbound emails, brochures, founders’ business cards, deal flow lists) from different entry points (events, word of mouth, drop-bys, intros from mentors/investors) received by any Rockstart employees;
Conducting systematic market research to keep up to date with tech trends;
Preparing reports and analytics for pipelines, applications, alumni statistics etc.;
Use Growth Hacking tactics to outreach innovative startups all over the world;
Working together with the team members in order to establish the structural flow of information and a clear protocol for sourcing startups.
As an intern at Rockstart, we expect flexibility, proactivity and a diverse set of skills from your side. You would describe yourself as analytical, structured, energized, an all-rounder and a great communicator.
Next to this, we require:
Availability: 40 hours per week.
Duration: 6 months.
Remuneration: € 300 monthly + travel expenses + free daily lunch
For any questions, please contact Artem Galchenko (firstname.lastname@example.org).
Big entrepreneurial network
At Rockstart you will not only be surrounded by our team, but also over 150 other driven and talented startup entrepreneurs at Rockstart Spaces (there are over 50+ startups situated here). You’ll have a chance to meet a mix of founders, designers, developers, marketing people and experienced Rockstart mentors. This makes a great opportunity to expand your network in the startup world and get to know all the great new innovations, apps and projects that are being developed here.
As an intern you will never be alone. Since the startups at Rockstart Spaces have their own interns too, and Rockstart works with multiple interns in different roles at the same time, there is a strong, international intern community at Rockstart that likes to hang out and exchange experiences.
At Rockstart we have a great events space (the Ballroom), that is always being used for different events you can join, usually with drinks and snacks provided. As an intern at Rockstart you will even get access to some of the closed events that are, for example, part of the Rockstart Accelerator programs. These are normally only accessible to the 10 startups that get selected for each program from hundreds of applications every year.
Food & drinks
Interns at Rockstart get free lunch and unlimited fresh coffee brews and milk foam. We also have a free team breakfast every Monday and drinks (with personal stories!) on Fridays.
(Please apply only if you are / would be still studying or are enrolled into a study program during the course of the internship and are legally allowed to work in the Netherlands).
