The Role:
You will be working in Rockstart’s Emerging Tech Fund. Our goal as a team is to find and invest in the best European startups in the Emerging Tech domain. This is an opportunity to be part of an experienced and diverse team, selecting and investing in high-potential startups, support and accelerate them, and co-invest up to series A/B rounds.
As an Investment Analyst Intern you will have the opportunity to lead the process, from identification, and qualification, to running analysis on early-stage startups, and finding the best tech startups for selection and for the portfolio of investments.

Just a few of the responsibilities:
Deal flow sourcing: Generate a high-quality startup deal flow of warm leads in the Emerging Tech domain, proactively looking for deal sourcing channels (e.g. universities, incubators, accelerators).
Assess hundreds of startup pitch decks and conduct initial calls with potential founders for the fund to invest in and provide your recommendation on next steps.
Map Emerging Tech-related events in Europe to build Rockstart Emerging Tech pipeline.
Business analysis: Help assess investment opportunities through competitive analysis, product, technology, team and market fit evaluation.
Market research: Continuously monitor the tech markets to keep up-to-date with hot trends and recent developments in technologies and applications.
Support in the preparation of investor reporting and proposals
Job requirements
About you:
You are curious to get to know new technologies, to learn about and understand groundbreaking ideas, but also what drives people. You like diving deep into a task, but you’re also able to and like dividing your attention over various tasks or subjects – in this position, you can be exploring a digital health app preventing diabetes in the morning, and looking into AI for sorting waste in the afternoon.

You are a critical thinker who is quick to understand how a business model or product works. You enjoy a fast-paced environment and you are good at creating processes and order. The information and data you deliver in your docs and sheets is on point and can be relied on by the rest of the team. You currently are a student, preferably in a technical/data-related domain, and you’re curious to explore if working in venture capital would be for you.

Must have requirements:
Pursuing a BSc/MSc degree in Data Science, STEM, Finance or other related fields;
A desire to learn about the venture capital industry, tech startups, and entrepreneurship;
Strong ability to take on responsibility and work independently with a results-oriented attitude;
Analytical mindset and extremely high attention to details;
Well developed social and interpersonal skills, strong relationship management skills;
Advanced knowledge of Excel;
Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) in English;
A ton of enthusiasm for Rockstart’s mission in supporting the best startups.

Remuneration: €600 per month
Location: Amsterdam Hybrid Office and Remote.
