This is an opportunity to join a €30m+ fund, which will invest in disruptive tech startups from across Europe. You can be part of an experienced and diverse team, scouting and selecting high potential startups, ‘accelerate’ them to scale-ready, and co-invest up to series B. The fund’s focus will be on a selection of technologies under the Emerging Tech umbrella, with capacity to invest across the (digital) tech spectrum, as it emerges over the fund’s investment period. The fund will offer the unique opportunity of de-risked and diversified exposure to businesses and technologies at an earlier stage than traditional VCs.
As Investment Associate you will have the opportunity to lead the whole process, from identification, qualification and closing of funding with informal investors and business angels. Your skills as a business model engineer will allow you to run analysis on early stage startups, finding the best tech startups for selection and for the portfolio of investments. You will work alongside our experienced international team to increase value in the portfolio of Rockstart’s investments, in alignment with company strategy and Rockstart's purpose and mission. In addition to this, we offer a great opportunity for personal growth, with the opportunity to take on a partner role.

Analyzing and categorizing the portfolio based on our in-house model and monitoring performance.
Supporting the Emerging Tech Partner in timely and compliant deal execution.
Preparing and recommending capital allocation with the Emerging Tech Partner,
Collecting and analysing financial data and qualitative input and communicating this to investors as part of periodic reporting.
Ensuring investments are made in line with Rockstart’s criteria for successful follow-on investments.
Building networks and relationships throughout the venture capital ecosystem.

Passionate about early stage startups and scale-ups with a penchant for deal-making, confident in numbers and easily able to analyse large quantities of data to draw high level insights. Solid understanding of the drivers of (future) business performance and valuation. It takes you only minutes on a website/presentation to fully understand the business model and product, distilling large volumes of information into clear, concise analyses that you are able to communicate confidently.
