Job description

The Role:

This internship is the ideal way to gain practical experience in both financial administration and in the accelerator / VC industry. This internship offers plenty of opportunities to learn, grow and find an exciting Thesis / Professional Project topic. You will be assisting the preparation of the investors report of 19 microfunds to be sent to more than 150 investors. You will also be involved in the management of the investments made by those 19 microfunds that count with more than 80 active startups.

Main responsibilities:

You will participate fully in the Funds and Investment team. You will be involved in a wide variety of company projects, ranging from investor reporting to other funds priorities (e.g. work on valuation calculations, returns assessments, follow-on rounds analysis, business development assessments, etc ). You will work alongside the finance team to ensure that Rockstart maintains a high standard support role within the organization.

Just a few of the responsibilities:

  • Collecting data for the half-yearly investor reporting;

  • Analysis of investment rounds from valuation and returns perspective;

  • Calculation of fair market value;

  • Business development assessments;

  • Updating our startup/portfolio database;

  • Administration in general.

Requirements

About you:

You are smart and learn fast. When you see an assignment, you dive right to the bottom of it while never losing sight of the complete picture. As an intern at Rockstart, we expect flexibility and a diverse set of skills from your side. You would describe yourself as driven, detailed oriented, analytical, structured, an all-rounder and you have great organizational skills.

Next to this we require:

  • You must be registered as a student in a Dutch institute during the entire duration of the internship;

  • Pursuing a BSc/MSc degree in Business, Finance, Economics, STEM or other related fields;

  • A desire to learn about the venture capital industry, startups, and entrepreneurship;

  • Strong ability to take on responsibility and work independently with a results-oriented attitude;

  • Analytical mindset and extremely high attention to details;

  • Well developed social and interpersonal skills, strong relationship management skills;

  • Advanced knowledge of Excel;

  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) in English;

  • A ton of enthusiasm for Rockstart’s mission in supporting the best startups.

Further details:
Start: April 2023
Availability: 40 hours per week;
Duration: 6 months Internship
Remuneration: €600 per month, plus €2 per day 'Remote Work Allowance'
Location: Netherlands Remote.
