Job description
Rockstart is an early stage investor that empowers purpose-driven founders across three domains: Energy, AgriFood, and Emerging Technologies. With a global network and offices in Amsterdam, Copenhagen, and Bogotá, Rockstart invests in and accelerates early stage startups from pre-seed to Series B, providing access to capital, markets, and expertise through our fast-track scaling program.
You will work alongside our experienced international team to monitor a portfolio of 200+ startups, to manage investment & exit processes of those startups and to run a EUR 7m social impact fund focused on energy poverty and inclusivity. We believe this role represents a great opportunity for personal growth.
Key Responsibilities:
General:
Being the first point of contact for portfolio startups and representing Rockstart in shareholders' meetings
Analysis of investment rounds from valuation and returns perspective
Collecting data for the half-yearly investor reporting
Being first point of contact for part of our investors
Updating our startup/portfolio database
Business development assessments
Manage investors' requests
Social impact fund responsibilities:
Running ongoing and new investment processes, including due diligence, contract negotiations and presentations to the Investment Committee
Managing and reporting on the portfolio
Actively engaging with portfolio startups and initiatives

You are an experienced associate looking for the next exciting step. With a passion for working with mission driven founders and early stage startups, you like to connect with people, build trusting relationships across stakeholder groups and love to work in a team. As a person you are dedicated and take pride in owning processes and tasks. You gain energy from having focussed time when working from home, balanced with regular office days to reconnect with colleagues.
You enjoy deal making, you are able to independently drive and close deals at multiple stages of investment. Your ability to manage processes effectively allows you to shift focus between several topics without compromising on quality or efficiency.
You are humble and bring a positive attitude, open to learning and coaching with a solution orientated approach. You excel at driving workflows and know how to involve and collaborate with your team members.
Your skills and experience:
4+ years of relevant experience working with demonstrable VC (or related) transactions with end-to-end responsibility.
Well-developed social and interpersonal skills.
Strong analytical skills.
Passion for early stage startups, with a desire to excel in the fields of venture capital.
Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) in Dutch and English.
Strong Dutch network, with an angle in social ventures and sustainability.
Bonus points:
A masters degree in business, finance or economics or stellar commercial entrepreneurial experience building a VC-backed startup.
