As Investment Manager you will have the opportunity to lead the whole process, from origination, qualification and closing of investments. Ecosystem knowledge and personal connections will be important as you build close relations with multiple stakeholders, for example the Investment Committee, syndication partners, founders and mentors. Your skills as a business model engineer/designer/planner will allow you to run analysis on early stage startups, finding the best Energy startups for selection and for the portfolio of investments. You will work alongside our experienced international team to increase Rockstart’s investments portfolio value, in alignment with company strategy and Rockstart's purpose and mission. Main responsibilities will include:
Work alongside the Energy Partner and Investment team in the sourcing and development of new investment opportunities in Energy ventures.
Researching companies and trends, specifically Energy related, to shape and refine fund investment strategy.
Help identify social issues where impact venture investment can help scale innovative solutions.
Overseeing deal pipeline processes and tools.
Collecting, analyzing and categorizing the portfolio based on qualitative and quantitative data to monitor performance with periodic reporting.
Guiding the Energy Partner in timely and compliant deal execution.
Preparing and drafting investment and capital recommendations and documentation for the Investment Committee.
Ensuring investments are made in line with Rockstart’s criteria for successful follow-on investments.
Building networks and relationships throughout the venture capital ecosystem.

You enjoy deal making, you are able to identify metrics that matter for the business amongst large quantities of data to be able to draw high level insight.

You are humble and bring a positive attitude, open to learning and coaching with a solution orientated approach. You excel at driving workflows and know how to involve and collaborate with your team members.

Must have requirements:
5+ years of relevant experience working with VC (or related) transactions, either in VC, PE, corporate finance/investment banking, financial advisory, business development, strategy consulting or similar.
Well-developed social and interpersonal skills, strong relationship management skills.
Ability to sell.
Experience in financial advisory, business development, strategy consulting or similar.
Passion for early stage startups, with a desire to excel in the fields of venture capital and entrepreneurship.
Data-driven and financially literate, with a strong analytical mindset. Excellent attention to detail combined with an ability to step back and see the patterns in and implications of data and analysis.
Passion for startups, scale-ups, with a desire to excel in the fields of venture capital and entrepreneurship.
Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) in English.
Bonus points:
A great understanding or deep interest in the Energy sector.
Fluent Dutch or Danish speaker.
An existing ecosystem and network of startups within the Benelux / Nordic Venture Community.
Availability: May 2023
Weekly hours: 40hrs
Duration: This is a long-term position starting with a 12 month contract.
Remuneration includes:
Competitive market salary based on experience, plus EPP, and direct carry in the fund.
