About the role
This is an opportunity to join a new fund, which will invest in disruptive startups from across the European industries, manufacturing, and industrial technology ecosystem. You can be part of an experienced and diverse team, scouting and selecting high potential startups, support them to be scale-ready, and invest in the top performers. The fund will offer the unique opportunity of de-risked and diversified exposure to businesses and technologies at an earlier stage than traditional VCs.

This is an exciting opportunity for a deal-orientated individual with deep industry experience in European industries, manufacturing, and industrial technology to join an established early stage impact-driven VC in anticipation of expansion. As Investment Manager you will have the opportunity to lead the whole process, from identification, qualification and closing of funding with informal investors and business angels. You will identify the best tech startups to invest in and run analyses on them. Your commercial and strategic thinking will allow you to play a role in thesis development and fundraising for new funds in future. You enjoy drawing on your (domain) network to bring value to portfolio companies.

You will work alongside our experienced international team to increase value in the portfolio of Rockstart’s investments, in alignment with company strategy and Rockstart's purpose and mission. In addition to this we offer a great opportunity for personal growth, with the opportunity to take on a Principal / senior role in the future.

Key responsibilities
Support the Rockstart team in the sourcing and development of new investment opportunities.
Researching companies and trends, specifically European manufacturing to shape and refine fund investment strategy.
Helping identify social issues where impact venture investment can help scale innovative solutions.
Analyzing and categorizing the portfolio based on our inhouse model and monitoring performance.
Supporting the Industrial Manufacturing Partner in timely and compliant deal execution.
Preparing and recommending capital allocation with the Industrial Manufacturing Partner,
Collecting and analyzing financial data and qualitative input and communicating this to investors as part of periodic reporting.
Ensuring investments are made in line with Rockstart’s criteria for successful follow-on investments.
Building networks and relationships throughout the venture capital ecosystem.
Job requirements
What makes you the perfect candidate?
A true team player with an entrepreneurial attitude, exceptional analytical skills and the ability to focus on several issues without compromising on quality or efficiency. Passionate about early stage startups and scale-ups with a penchant for deal-making, confident in numbers and easily able to analyze large quantities of data to draw high level insights. Solid understanding of the drivers of (future) business performance and valuation. It takes you only minutes on a website / presentation to fully understand the business model and product, distilling large volumes of information into clear, concise analyses which you are able to communicate confidently.

Must have requirements
A masters in business, finance or economics or domain specialism. A specialization in strategy is a bonus.
5+ years of relevant experience working with transactions either in VC, PE, corporate finance/investment banking, financial advisory, business development, strategy consulting or similar.
Passion for startups, scale-ups, with a desire to excel in the fields of venture capital and entrepreneurship.
Data-driven and financially literate, with a strong analytical mindset. Excellent attention to detail combined with an ability to step back and see the patterns in and implications of data and analysis.
Well-developed social and interpersonal skills, strong relationship management skills.
Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) in English.

Proven track record of fundraising from LPs.

Start: September 2026
Availability: 40 hour per week
Duration: This is a long-term position starting with a 7 month contract.
Remuneration: Based on experience.
Location: Amsterdam or Copenhagen
