The Role:

Rockstart is looking for an all-round legal intern to support our in-house legal team with day-to-day activities and run your own projects. We offer a unique and inspiring internship for a high potential lawyer, where you will have the opportunity to participate fully in all legal matters that arise in our organisation. You will be generally engaged in corporate law, contract law, labour law and intellectual property. The internship is an ideal way to gain practical experience in both corporate legal services and in the accelerator / VC industry. This internship offers plenty of opportunities to learn, grow and if they like, find an exciting Thesis / Professional Project topic.

Just a few of the responsibilities:

As a legal intern at Rockstart you participate fully in the legal team. You will be involved in a wide variety of company projects, ranging from negotiating commercial contracts with third parties, conducting legal research on relevant laws and case law, preparing for due diligence processes with startups or to setting up new fund structures for our startup investment activities. You will work alongside the legal team to ensure that Rockstart has sound contractual relations with all stakeholders and that its products are compliant with legal and regulatory requirements. Main fields of work include but are not limited to (commercial) contract law, company law (restructuring, corporate advice, venture capital etc.) and legal due diligence (including KYC/AML procedures).

Job requirements

Requirements:

As an intern at Rockstart, we expect flexibility and a diverse set of skills from your side. You would describe yourself as driven, details oriented, analytical, structured, an all-rounder and you have great organizational skills.

Next to this we require:

  • Students are registered in a Dutch university or educational institute during the entire duration of the internship;

  • You are in your final years of Bachelors or Masters program;

  • A special interest and/or experience in startup/VC area;

  • Fluency in English, Dutch is not required but a strong plus;

  • Must have the ability to work independently and must be a self starter;

  • A ton of enthusiasm for Rockstart’s mission in supporting the best startups.

Bonus points: we would love our interns to bring something extra to the table, so we encourage you to mention in your motivation any special knowledge or experience that in your opinion is very valuable for Rockstart.

Start: February / March 

Availability: 40 hours per week;

Duration: 6 months

Remuneration: € 600 monthly + travel expenses
